The power of Global Forum 2015

The GS1 Global Forum held on 9-13 February 2015 brought many people together and we once more broke the records. It is clear that the immersion of so many people in the GS1 “world” – coupled with a new global brand and a rich exchange of ideas to help transform business through the power of standards – was a perfect recipe for success! .

GS1 delivers real value – but nothing could be achieved without our strong and unique GS1 culture. We have made great progress in being more interdependent and we should all be very proud of the level of collaboration and efficiency we have today .

The new global strategy addresses important issues facing businesses today. How Member Organisations can be part of the progress of those focus areas – and the future of our organisation – was the key takeaway from the week.

Over 600 participants are expected. * GS1 Member Organisations executive staff representing over 80 countries worldwide: MO CEOs, COOs, marketing and training managers, technical experts, projects leaders, etc. * GS1 Stakeholders guest representatives from end user industry, key trade associations (TCGF, WCO) and solution providers who are also members in our various Management Boards .

As we return home to our own countries our challenge is knowing what to do next. The goal is clear: to grow implementation of our standards in our core sectors, assess new opportunities, and leverage our incredible and diverse global network.
