The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) is driving the UAE’s industrial growth through its ‘Make It In The Emirates’ initiative, which encourages local businesses to manufacture high-quality products within the country. As part of this initiative, a Ramadan Market is being held this month, offering UAE-based manufacturers a platform to showcase their products to consumers at competitive prices.
With the UAE’s growing focus on local manufacturing, GS1 UAE plays a crucial role in supporting businesses by providing globally recognized identification and data standards. These standards enable manufacturers to enhance traceability, improve supply chain efficiency, and ensure seamless market access. By adopting GS1 barcodes and data-sharing solutions, businesses can meet regulatory requirements, build consumer trust, and scale their presence both locally and internationally, thereby strengthening the nation’s industrial sector.
The ability to accurately identify and track products is essential for ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards. GS1 standards help UAE manufacturers strengthen their operations, improve transparency, and integrate into global supply chains. This not only boosts the presence of UAE-made products in the market but also reinforces the country’s vision of becoming a leading industrial hub.
As initiatives like ‘Make It In The Emirates’ continue to drive local manufacturing forward, GS1 UAE remains committed to empowering businesses with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive market.
The first market will take place in Umm Al Quwain in collaboration with the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will run from March 1st to 10th, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
